Add to favourites

We have put together some of our favorite wines we have come across.  One of each of the below;

Chateau Musar Jeune Red, Duque De Viseu Dao Tinto, Paparuda Pinot Noir, Bodegones Viognier, Quara Torrontes, Pemo Pecorino.

  • Chateau Musar Jeune Red — x 1

    Musar Jeune Red is an unoaked blend of Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from youthful Bekaa Valley vines. Meant for current consumption – within a few years of the harvest – this deeply-coloured, vividly fruity style, first produced in 2007, may yet prove to be a ‘keeper’. Inky-dark, silky-textured and aromatic, with blackcurrant, raspberry and cherry jam flavours and a warm, spicy finish, it has been likened to a fine Roussillon red.

  • Duque de Viseu Tinto, Quinta dos Carvalhais, Dao — x 1

    This wine is deep ruby red in colour, with aromas of cherries and plum jam, as well as floral and herbal nuances. The palate is ripe and smooth, with structured tannins and freshness provided by a vibrant acidity culminating in a fresh finish.

  • Paparuda Pinot Noir — x 1

    The Recas Winery in Romania is the source of grape value Pinot Noir. This is a tricky grape variety, but the terroir combined with sensitive winemaking has produced an attractive red at a tremendously good price.

    Wonderful juicy fruit of cherries and raspberries with notes of spice and soft tannins.   The finish is soft, round and velvety with hints of eucalyptus.

  • Bodegones del Sur Vineyard Select Viognier — x 1

    MAY SALE – Save 15%

    Bodegones del Sur is produced by Juanico, one of Uruguay’s leading family-owned wineries and its most technically advanced, thanks to its investment in the latest technology. They have a total planted area of 240 hectares and use a cultivation system that respects the environment by using the principles of organic farming, avoiding the use of chemicals, to ensure a natural balance in the ecosystem and reduce human intervention.

    This dry white is made from 100% Viognier. The grapes were cold macerated prior to fermentation and then 30% of the wine was aged in second use oak barrels from 4 to 6 months. Deep straw colour with touches of green, the wine has a rich stone fruit nose with aromas of peach, apricot and nectarine. Balanced by a crisp and mineral acidity, it is an ideal food match for white meats, sweetbreads, smoked salmon and seafood.

  • Quara Estate Torront?s — x 1

    Classic notes of nectarine, rose petal and honey blossom are all present on the alluring nose; the palate is honeyed and textural with flavours of orange, warm peach and a lifted perfume of summer flowers. A finely balanced and precise acidity keeps the wine fresh and lively.

  • Pemo Pecorino, Terre di Chieti — x 1

    Pecorino is a white grape variety native to central Italy. The name can be somewhat confusing as it is also that of a little sheep (pecor = sheep) and a cheese, made from sheep’s milk. The white wine is equally characterful: Fresh, dry and nutty with attractive citrus aromas. It is rounded and flavoursome with good structure. Impressive in its vibrant youth, this is a wine that can also be kept.

    If you have not come across it, this is definitely a wine to try. It is the perfect accompaniment to white meat and seafood.
