The vineyard of Château Saint-Hilaire was created in 1982 in Jau Dignac Loirac, on deep, gravel soils overlooking the Gironde Estuary. Adrien Uijttewaal gradually expanded the estate to the neighbouring village of Queyrac, with its terroir of gravelly knolls and clay subsoil, by steadily planting new vines and the acquisition of vines of around 30 years in age. This excellent terroir yields wines with all the finesse and elegance typical of the Médoc appellation and which have been made on the estate, in a modern winemaking facility, only since 1995. Château Saint-Hilaire became a Cru Bourgeois with the revision of the classification in 2003.

This still youthful wine is crimson-hued with purple tints. The powerful, refined nose is a marriage of red-berried fruit with elegant
oak and strong hints of spice. The front-of-palate displays plump, creamy extract, the mid-palate revealing a balanced structure
that gives this wine fine length. An excellent wine from an exceptional year. A few years’ patience will be required to taste it at its
peak.
