Description
GWS is one of the best, modern wineries in Georgia. Philippe Lespy, formerly Head Viticulturist at Château Mouton-Rothschild in Bordeaux for over eight years, is in charge of the winemaking.
This unoaked red is named ‘Tamada’, which is a Georgian toastmaster who overseas a traditional Georgian feast.
It is made from 100% Saperavi grapes. Mature ruby with brick hue. Black mulberry and cherry with soft oak and vanilla overtones, which are echoed on the mid weight palate. The soft velvety tannin structure is well balanced with acidity. The wine has an excellently expressed vinosity.
The perfect food match for this wine is grilled lamb, or lamb stew of Italian or Georgian style. It also pairs well with grilled steak with green pepper sauce and a wide variety of cheese.
